The Delta Eta Boule Foundation helps Black males attend and graduate college to become leaders in their communities and professions through scholarships, one-on-one mentoring, internships and professional development. Delta Eta Boule fraternity (aka “the Boule”) is the Denver chapter of Sigma Pi Phi, America’s oldest black Greek-lettered organization for successful Black male professionals. Members of the Boule created the Foundation and its first scholarship in 1998. All members contribute to the Foundation financially, but it operates independently from the fraternity as its own 501(c)3 organization.
From our founding through the 2019-2020 academic year, we awarded $667,000 in scholarships to more than 100 Denver area high school graduates attending colleges and universities throughout the country. We recently awarded an additional $116,250 to 38 undergraduate Scholars and four graduate Scholars for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Our Scholars are graduates of metro Denver high schools who have overcome significant obstacles to achieve academic success and demonstrate strong personal character and leadership in their schools and communities. While these young men have the skills to succeed academically in college, they do not have the financial resources, emotional support, and social capital that is enjoyed by their more privileged peers. The Boule Foundation works to level the playing field by providing not just financial resources, but access to a network of accomplished Black professionals who support their growth and development throughout their college experience and early in their professional careers. We focus exclusively on Black males because of our unique nature as role models to influence them as future fathers as well as achievers. This support is critical to their becoming leaders in their communities.
